Typically this would be a computer, with the potential for a large, colorful, graphical interface, superior to the standard E4 front panel display. The protocol consists of a data format usable over MIDI, as well as any other transfer media. The data format is simple, flexible, and easy to expand while maintaining backwards compatibility. There are a few basic necessary functions that make up a Remote Preset Editor/Librarian package. the ability to select the Preset to edit.

You don't.really. need the manual for the sampler itself. I have an e6400 ultra and the 'manual' for the sampler is 29 pages long, and most of that is electrical warning/compliance and warranty information. What the buttons are on the front (the nice labeled buttons) what the ports are on the back (the nice labeled ports), which slots are RAM and ROM (once again, labeled). Most of the information on how to.use. the sampler is in the EOS manual.

the sampler is in the EOS manual. Looking at the OES documentation, you have a point; however, that's not all there is. A manual should also tell me what samples are on board this thing. I can read the screen, but for 1 Gb of sample it would be nice to have some descriptions. For example, there are something like 10-15 '909' samples, and there's no clue what distinguishes one from the others.
Does Emu really have a problem posting the darn thing? Newbie Posts: 81 Joined: Tue Dec 09, 2008 8:44 pm Location: Seattle, WA Gear: Korg Polysix, Waldorf Micro Q, Roland JP-8000, Korg Prophecy, Waldorf Nave. The manual will not tell you which samples are on board.
Considering your unit is used, it isn't likely the manual would be accurate anyway. The EOS samplers came with at least a few CDs worth of samples (the standard set was eight CDs, nine if the Producer disk was included) but the sampler itself came with no samples on the drive- the drive may have even been added by the previous owner as not all of them shipped with internal hard drives. Those 909 samples may have been done by the previous owner- it is a sampler after all. If you don't have the CDs, I've seen sets of them on Ebay.
Of course, my favorite disks of the sample sets are all the Emulator II stuff.
